Scope of Submission

Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship is the official publication of the St. Andrew's College Association, established to promote interdisciplinary research and global academic exchange. All articles in the Journal are peer-reviewed, with referees drawn from distinguished scholars and researchers across diverse fields.

The Journal is devoted to multidisciplinary inquiry, encouraging contributions from the sciences, humanities, social sciences, technology, and professional studies. With an aim of attaining international readership, the Journal seeks to attract articles in frontier areas of research, including emerging interdisciplinary domains, global challenges, and innovative methodologies.

The Journal is seeking to earn a reputation for academic rigor and international relevance and will be publishing contributions from well-known scholars worldwide. It also welcomes articles that provide pedagogical insights and accessible knowledge for teachers and students in colleges and universities, thereby bridging advanced research with educational practice.

Guidelines for Authors

Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished work and not under consideration elsewhere. Contributions may include research articles, review papers, case studies, and short communications across disciplines. Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives are strongly encouraged.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: All submissions must be in clear, grammatically correct English.
  • Length: Articles should generally be between 4,000-8,000 words (excluding references).
  • Format: Use standard academic formatting (Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced).
  • Structure: Include title, abstract (150-250 words), keywords (4-6), introduction, methodology, results/discussion, conclusion, and references.
  • References: Follow APA (7th edition) or another internationally recognized citation style consistently.

Ethical Standards

  • Authors must ensure accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work.
  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research practices will result in rejection.
  • Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical guidelines and include approval details where applicable.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal's official submission portal/email. Each submission must include:

  • A cover letter stating the originality of the work.
  • Author details (name, affiliation, ORCID ID, contact information).
  • A declaration of conflict of interest (if any).

Waivers and Discounts

Most open-access publishers charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). However, authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries often qualify for full or partial waivers. Publishers such as Springer Nature, Elsevier, Wiley, PLOS, and MDPI have structured waiver programs based on World Bank classifications. In many cases, researchers from SAARC countries receive automatic discounts or can apply for fee assistance.

Peer Review

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
  • Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit based on reviewer feedback.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts not meeting standards.

Publication & Copyright

  • Accepted papers will be published online and/or in print.
  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to distribute and archive their work.
  • Proper attribution must be given when reusing published material.

Publication Fees for Authors

Academic publishing has increasingly recognized the financial challenges faced by researchers in developing nations. To ensure equitable access to global scholarship, many journals and publishers have adopted special fee policies for authors from India, SAARC countries, and other low-income regions.

Institutional and Government Support

In India and other SAARC nations, universities, research councils, and funding agencies sometimes cover APCs through grants or institutional agreements with publishers. Authors are encouraged to check whether their institution has such arrangements.

Case-by-Case Consideration

Even when no automatic waiver applies, this journal allows authors to request fee reductions by explaining financial constraints. Editors may grant concessions to ensure that valuable research is not excluded due to cost.

Practical Guidance for Authors

  • Review the "Instructions for Authors" or "Publication Fees" section of the journal.
  • Contact the editorial office if fees are unaffordable—waivers may be granted.
  • Seek institutional or grant support to cover APCs when available.

Guidelines for the Awards of Confluence International Journal of Global Scholarship

For any award of Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship, the applicant should be a Life Member of the Journal and fulfil the following conditions:

Certificate of Merit

  1. Age: Not more than 36 years on January 1 of the year of award.
  2. At least one publication in Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship.
  3. Attended at least one symposium/conference organized by the Journal Society and presented a paper.

Gold Medal in Interdisciplinary Research

  1. Age: Below 50 years on January 1 of the year of award.
  2. At least three publications in Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship.
  3. Attended at least two symposia/conferences organized by the Journal Society and presented a paper.
  4. Gold Medal Awardees will deliver a Gold Medal Award Lecture. Applicants must submit a single-author manuscript forming the substance of the lecture. The successful applicant will present the lecture at the symposium, after which the Medal will be conferred. The manuscript will be published in Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship.

Fellowship

  1. At least four publications in Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship, one of which should be in the immediate last volume of the Journal.
  2. Attended at least two symposia/conferences organized by the Journal Society and presented a paper.

Lifetime Achievement Award

  1. A senior, well-known interdisciplinary scholar recognized internationally.
  2. At least five publications in Confluence International: Journal of Global Scholarship, one of which should be in the immediate last volume of the Journal.
  3. Attended at least two symposia/conferences organized by the Journal Society and delivered a lead/invited lecture.
